More hospitals and healthcare facilities. But are we becoming healthier, mentally and physically?
More turf courts and sports facilities. But do children have more opportunities to play?
More supermarkets and restaurants. But is the food nourishing?
More sophisticated machinaries, and high-end technology in Industries and Agriculture. But are we producing for our true need, and is our river Cauvery, soil and groundwater thriving?
Education should help us understand ourselves, be happy & healthy, pursue meaningful livelihoods, build true relationships, and live in harmony with nature.
Is our education taking us there?
These questions matter not just in Komarapalayam, but everywhere.
The Gap

From bullock carts to cars, trains, flights and space exploration, we have continually pushed the boundaries of what is possible. When humans pay attention, remarkable things have happened.
Yet, despite this remarkable progress, many challenges persist — within ourselves, in our relationships with one another, and in our relationship with nature.
We are finding ways to reach Mars, because we pay attention. But are we finding ways to live well with one another here on Earth?
Isn’t it time we pay greater attention to understanding reality, understanding ourselves, and nurturing our relationships?
The Vembu Way
Vembu is not a school, a college, or an activity centre. It is an experimental, multi-generational learning space — focused on building a spirit of community and nurturing a culture of continuous learning, for life and through life.
Our experiments take many forms — some nurture individual growth, while others bring people together to learn and grow collectively. Some turn inward, helping us understand ourselves better; others turn outward, creating opportunities to contribute to and care for our community.
